C. Lilly J. Lekhan is a spiritual poet and a fiction poet, as well as being the Poet and Founder of the Sweetest Art List, an arts appreciation blog founded in the fall of 2014. Lekhan is also a small independent publisher of rare texts from around the world through Lekhan Publishing House. You can read about her background on the News Page–where Lilly posts uploads and news from her life and career–in the post titled “Upload of Resume and Back Pages.”
Lilly maintains four websites: this personal website, The Sweetest Art List site, a promotional site for The Sweetest Art List, and a personal promotional site. All 3 additional sites are linked at the bottom of this one.
C. Lilly J. Lekhan is the penname for Deepa Sampath, and the image in the upper left corner of this site is the pictograph of Lilly’s full name. The C stands for Clarity, the J stands for Joy, and Lilly Joy Lekhan means “sprung from the lilly-joy document.” Lilly Joy is a two-word middle name, and Lilly is the nickname. You can call her Lilly Lekhan, pronounced “Lake-in.” The Sweetest Art List is the first to publish Lekhan’s poetry, though she does have other credits listed in her resume.
Lilly’s interests include vegan cooking, yoga, hiking, books and literature, music, and western astrology. Lilly is a Pisces Moon and a Virgo Sun with a Capricorn Ascendant, her favorite season is Summer, her favorite animal is the Snow Leopard, and her favorite stones are moonstone and pink diamonds. Her favorite wasting-time activity is window shopping at all level of stores, and her favorite clear-her-head activity is going for a walk. Lilly likes to vacation in American cities, at the beach, and in scenic spots. Lilly’s favorite resort is The Greenbrier in WV. Something about Lilly that would surprise you: Lilly likes to drive fast and expensive cars. Lilly’s perfect Halloween costume would be a ‘cougar’–or mountain cat. Lilly supports the following causes: Arts and Culture, Libraries, The First Amendment, the Environment, and Book Preservation. Lilly has a BA degree in Psychology and Sacred Arts from Boston University, and has worked as a children’s librarian. She is from Charleston, WV and Boston–both in the USA–and is a mountain-lover.
Lilly is proud to have been born in the USA in Lexington, KY and went through all the years of her schooling in the US. Lilly’s travels abroad have only been to India, and only in some summers, to visit relatives there. Lilly has traveled around Tamil Nadu, and has visited Pondicherry and Kerala in India. She has also been to Canada and some Caribbean islands. Lilly comes from Tamil-speaking business, banking, and jewelry stock in India, and is Hindu/New Age. Her primary spiritual guide is the Archangel Michael, and her primary spiritual path is: to serve God, and speak the truth. Lilly tries as much as possible to devote the 11th and 22nd of every month to spirituality.
Lilly has never been married to anyone who was not born in the US, does not have children, and is currently single. Lilly is “straight as an arrow” and is interested in the following types of men: entrepreneurs, musicians, men of the art world, bankers, and men from jewelry lines. Lilly only dates men who are older than her, but she has nothing but appreciation for the rest of you cute gentlemen!
Lilly is only interested in men and friends who believe in keeping “money and personal separate.” And who agree that the bills should always be paid well ahead of schedule, before any personal discussions or arguments, and before emotions and personal matters get in the way. Lilly’s advice to women who are going places: All girls need to pick a favorite cat–seriously! That’s the way to survive and climb the ladders of life and love. Cats are sexy–men will love it! Also, wear gems–you can’t go wrong with the classic jewelry descendant advice–and make sure they match your personality. Men need to pick a favorite dog, so the cats know how to get out of your way, and the boys know why to make a pack with you. (Now, enough silly advice from a businesswoman…)
Lilly knew in the 4th grade that she wanted to be a writer, and had decided by the 6th grade that her day job would be to put out her own solo newsletter on literature or history. In college it occurred to her that she came from the right stock and had the right writing and languages credentials to one day put forward a universal website navigation for businesses and self-employed individuals.
Lekhan believes the following further God’s Order: gender-neutral capitalism in America, a healthy global economy, food for the poor worldwide, and access to art that is a wholesome healer at a psychological level in all areas of the globe. Lilly believes gender-neutral capitalism in America would follow the following formula and would fix all ills in this country–both practical and psychological–and would secure the American way of life far into the future. The women will make a third of what the men make in money, but it will give them twice the purchasing power that is considered normal for them now–with financial security and nest eggs being considered a product to purchase. This will happen because the men demonstrate three times the energy and stamina at work compared to women, due to the women truly loving to put their energy into their home, their cooking, shopping and decorating, and their looks–and so having less physical stamina for paid work. Lekhan encourages Gen X businesswomen to call themselves “a shopper’s union,” who went into business because they wanted to secure their own right and ability to shop for quality products by making sure the products are available, that they have the money to spend on them, and that society has no way to heckle shoppers (or any subgroup of shoppers) or oppress shopping activity.
